Fishing and the locator

I love to fish. I troll alot. The lure skims through the water, and sometimes the fish follow right behind it. one big one kept getting closer, but would never bite the lure. The fish would just sit there and look at it.
Sometimes on the lake I feel like all I am doing is marking fish. You see, in the boat is a fish finder which uses sonar, and it marks where the fish are in the water-believe me, it's a lot more fun to catch them.
The psalmist (130) is discussing our sins as being marked. The word "mark" literally means "impute" or "credit". If the Lord gave us all of our iniquities, what would happen? We wouldn't have a chance. Never has a Christian cried out and asked God to give him what he deserves. We cry out for grace. "For by grace are ye saved through faith." Grace is undeserved kindness.
If God marked all of our iniquities and we all got what we deserved, none of us would survive. We couldn't stand. This psalm tells us to look at the grace of God, and to take a really good look.
So how do we get rid of the marks of our sin? That's simple. It's through Calvary. On the cross when Jesus died, we died. When He was buried, we were buried. When He arose, we arose. Why don't you ask God to show you His grace and erase your marks today?
